Under the Stars with some yummy s'mores!

Who doesn't love s'mores??? I know I love them and I also love my newest stamp set, Under the Stars! I just had to create something with it as soon as I got it! I'd been wanting to make one of the single sheet bags and thought it would be really cute to put s'mores fixin's inside to compliment the stamp set. The bag uses one 8 1/2 x 11" sheet of CS plus the small pieces for the stamped embellishments. I used Chocolate Chip and Whisper White on mine. I stamped the stars in Summer Sun and the Mosquitos (you can't see them in this picture) in Not Quite Navy. the bear and s'more were stamped in Chocolate Chip and colored in using Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, and Sahara Sand. I put 2 graham crackers, 2 marshmallows and 4 pieces of chocolate in a ziploc sandwich bag and put them inside. What a great little camping treat these would make for the kids!

My daughter, Abby's, 5th birthday invitations

Boy, does time fly! Especially when it comes to kids. Seems like just yesterday she was small enough to fit between elbow and wrist. Now she's my beanpole! And she grew another whole inch in the last month! I keep teasing her that we're going to put a brick on her head!

This birthday was all about butterflies. Ask Abby what she wanted for her birthday and her first answer was *a butterfly cake*! So I sat down with her and designed these butterfly cards using the God's Beauty hostess set for her invites. I used Versamark ink on Whisper White card stock to stamp and emboss the butterflies. I then let Abby choose 3 colors (Tempting Turquoise, Pixie Pink and Orchid Opulence) to sponge on top of the butterflies. I used a baby wipe to clean the ink off the embossed butterflies and then stamped the *You're Invited* (not a Stampin' Up! stamp... GASP!) in the corner. Simple and perfect for her butterfly birthday!

Especially for the twins!

My friend Jenn has adorable twin boys who just turned 4. I made these cards for them using Tempting Turquoise CS, Rainbow Sherbet DSP and the Big Bold Birthday stamp set. I embossed the cupcake bottoms and glittered the tops. I also glittered the candle flames. They turned out so sweet ~ just like the twins!

*Mom's* birthday card

I made this card for my *other* mom's birthday. It turned out so pretty and soft!

I used Sahara Sand cardstock for the base. I then adhered a piece of Bashful Blue Patterns DSP to the card front. I used the stamp set Symbols of Solicitude and stamped each image on Whisper White CS with Bashful Blue ink. I used a jumbo eyelet, two brads and a small piece of Whisper White ribbon for embellishments.

Faux Alligator Photo Album

I've been wanting to make this for weeks now! I just didn't have the supplies until Thursday and I got right to making it :) Thanks Jenn for letting me borrow your crop a dile, heat tool, and embossing powder!

I covered chipboard with Chocolate Chip cardstock done with the faux alligator technique for the covers. The inside paper is To the Nines designer series paper. I then bound it all with Chocolate Chip ribbon. I'm so happy with how this turned out! I think it would make a great father's day gift.

I dream of stampin'

I woke up this morning and just HAD to make THIS card. A little strange, I know, but inspiration can come from anywhere!

I used Whisper White as the base and Bashful Blue DSP for the torn pieces. I pulled out the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up my *frame* using Bashful Blue ink and one of the flowers from the Itty Bitty Buds set. This is where it got a little tricky and a hobby knife would have come in VERY handy (I used scissors since I don't have one). I cut the frame out and adhered it to the card with dimensionals. The sentiment is from Friends 24/7 stamped in Bashful Blue. I also added a little dot of glitter in the center of each flower. Add a little Whisper White ribbon and voila!

Easter Egg cards

I just LOVE the way these turned out!
I first cut out a template for the Easter egg by folding a 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" piece of cardstock in half lengthwise and freehanding an Easter egg shape. Then I traced it onto Bashful Blue and Whisper White and cut them out. You can't really see it in the picture, but I sponged the Bashful Blue egg with Bashful Blue ink. Then I cut the egg with a jagged line (like a broken eggshell) and adhered the bottom half of the egg to the Whisper White egg, lining up the edges. I placed the top half on the Whisper White, lining it up with the bottom and used the paper piercer to poke my hole for the brad on the side so that it swings open. I finished by embellishing my card with a Scallop Circle Punch of Delicate Dots DSP, a circle of Bashful Blue CS and a Sahara Sand stamped deer from Forest Friends on Whisper White. I added a little Bashful Blue flower from Flower Fusion and another Vintage Brad to the Scallop Circle then adhered them to the egg. I made sure I only adhered the scallop to the top half of the egg so that it would still swing open. Each one opens to reveal a Happy Easter greeting!

My first attempts at scrapbooking!

And they turned out cute! I used 6x6 pieces of the pink flower design from Walk in the Park Designer Series Paper, Flower Fusion in Pink Pirouette and Chocolate Chip, and Vintage Brads. For my journaling, I used the Scallop Edge Punch and the Scallop Circle Punch and the Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Marker. The pictures are from a day at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens in Virginia and are of my daughter, Abby, and some pretty cherry blossoms (not as pretty as Abby though!). I think they turned out great!

Great Friends and a Walk in the Park

Ohhhhh! The Occassions mini catalog came out today and there is SO many *pretties!* in it! I used the Walk in the Park Designer Series Paper and the Great Friend stamp set to create this all occasions card.

I used a base of Whisper White cardstock then layered Going Gray cardstock and two strips of Walk in the Park Designer Series Paper on top of it. I used a thin piece of Basic Gray cardstock over the seam between the two strips of designer series paper. I stamped the sentiment in Basic Gray and the butterfly in VersaMark which I then colored over using Stampin' Pastels on Whisper White. I layered that on Going Gray card stock and adhered with dimensionals. Last I added a brad at each corner and a mini library clip for a little shine!

Friends 24/7 Swap for Regionals

This is the one I wasn't sure what I was going to do with yet :) I really like the way it turned out, but if I'd had embossing powder, I think I would have embossed the bird. I used Bashful Blue cardstock for the base and stamped the bird from Friends 24/7 in Chocolate Chip on Very Vanilla. I used a ticket corner punch on the corners of the Very Vanilla piece. Four silver brads and some Chocolate Chip faux stitching with the Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Marker make the border. Then I stamped the Friends sentiment from Friends 24/7 (using a baby wipe to clean off the part that I didn't want stamped) and the 24/7 from the same set in Chocolate Chip. Voila!

Regional Swaps Pictures

I promised pictures and here they are! The top card is on Bashful Blue. I stamped butterflies from Flight of the Butterfly on Whisper White in Bashful Blue and Going Gray, cut them out and adhered them to layered Bashful Blue Patterns DSP on Whisper White with dimensionals. The sentiment is also from Flight of the Butterfly and stamped in Going Gray.
The second card is layered Whisper White on Basic Gray with a base of Whisper White. I chose three stamps from the Itty Bitty Buds hostess set and stamped them all over the small piece of Whisper White in Basic Gray, Going Gray and Basic Black. I used two strips of Whisper White ribbon around the Basic Gray and stamped Whisper White piece. Then I stamped thanks from Fundamental Phrases in Basic Gray on Whisper White, punched it out with a 1 1/4" circle punch then trimmed it flat on either side of the word and adhered it with dimensionals. I LOVE how this turned out so elegant. I think it would make great wedding thank yous!

Seattle Regionals

I've been busy, busy, busy working on my swaps for regionals. (so busy I need more supplies!) I'm making 20 each of 5 different designs. I've decided to use the Forest Friends tree card pictured below on Sahara Sand for one. I really wanted to do a black and white card for another and I LOVE the way it turned out. It's very classy and would make great wedding thank yous! I borrowed the Flight of the Butterfly set from Jenn and designed the third card on Bashful Blue. The forth is a funky birthday card on Tempting Turquoise with Rainbow Sherbet DSP. I'm still working on what I'm going to do for the fifth, but I'm thinking of using the bird from the Friends 24-7 set that I just got. I promise to add pictures later! :) Hope everyone is having a WONDERFUL day!

Bill's Birthday Card

Jenn made some great cards with the little squares of Designer Series Paper and the Great Friend stamp set and I was inspired to try my hand at it. I have a family friend whose birthday is this week and thought that would be a great way to make his card!

I used Whisper White cardstock for the base and Washington Apple DSP for the squares. I punched out a scallop in Real Red and a 1 1/4" circle in Only Orange. Then I colored the cupcake from Darling Dots with So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Real Red and Gable Green, cut it out and layered it on with dimensionals. I did the paper piercing first to use as a guide when lining up my squares. Last I stamped the Congratulations from Congrats in Only Orange. Hope he likes it!

Girl's Night In Scallop Notes

I love the Scallop Notes and they're so quick and easy! I decided to play a bit with the Great Friend Stamp set for the Chocolate Chip card using the Cameo Coral and Chocolate Chip to stamp the butterfly then cutting them out and using dimensionals to adhere them to a piece of the Walk in the Park Designer Series Paper. I punched the *for you* sentiment out with the 1 1/4" circle punch and used the straight edge cutter to make a word window of sorts.
For the Baja Breeze card I used the Flower Fusion flowers and a few Silver Brads. I faux stitched between the brads with a Chocolate Chip marker and stamped *for you* from Great Friend in Chocolate Chip.
The Pink Pirouette card I used the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set in Pink Pirouette and Chocolate Chip then a little paper piercer action. Simple!

Girl's Night In!

Jenn and I had a BLAST creating with all the new stuff in my order today! I thought I'd share some of the fabulous creations we came up with.
The first card I used the Forest Friends stamp set for the owl and Flight of the Butterfly for the sentiment. I stamped the owl in Sahara Sand on Whisper White and punched it out with a 1 1/4" circle punch then sponged So Saffron around the edges to look like the moon. The *branch* is the trunk of the tree from the Forest Friends set in Basic Brown and I added a Vintage Brad for a little basic bling.
The second card I decided to use up some of the bits and pieces of Delicate Dots Designer Series Paper that I had lying around. I used Bashful Blue (my current favorite color!!!) for the base of the card, punched a scallop circle from Delicate Dots, a 1 3/4" from Bashful Blue and punched a 1 1/4" circle around the owl from the Forest Friends set which I stamped in Sahara Sand. Last I added a So Saffron bow. Great way to use up my scraps! :)
The third card is on Sahara Sand. I sponged the tree trunk from Forest Friends in Sahara Sand and the leaves in Certainly Celery and stamped it on Whisper White. I used a piece of Delicate Dots and strip of Certainly Celery Ribbon. For You is from the Great Friend set and stamped in Basic Gray. This card was my favorite and SO simple!

Wishing For Spring

I don't know about you all, but I've had enough of the white fluffy stuff! I made this card in hopes of Spring. :) I used Pink Passion and Whisper White card stock with Tea Party and Delicate Dots (Sale-A-Bration) Designer Series Paper along with a strip of So Saffron (Sale-A-Bration) ribbon. I stamped Itty Bitty Buds in Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Pink Passion and Lovely Lilac then sponged Bashful Blue for the sky and Certainly Celery for grass. I added a Mini Library Clip and a little paper piercing for good measure. :) It definately reminds me of warmer weather!

ABC Images magnets

I got the idea from Terry Blais and designed these for a make and take at our demonstrator meeting. I used the ABC Images stamp set on whisper white cardstock and colored them in using the stampin' pastels and a blender pen then punched them out with a 3/4" circle punch. I used snail to adhere the image to the flat marble and glue dots to adhere the magnet to the image. Aren't they just adorable???

The top 3 cards are great examples of what you can do with some of the Sale-a-bration product (that you can earn for FREE!).
